TWO "ROAMING READERS" NEEDED AT
ESPERANZA
FOR FEB. 14TH CLUBS!
We have such a great relationship with our partner schools that at these reading clubs we have an exciting opportunity for a few of our experienced volunteers to bring your joy of reading to more kids!
During the reading clubs on Feb. 14th, Esperanza is also holding Saturday School (Saturday Intervention) for students who need additional academic help. The principal wants us to bring Reading to Kids to these students, too, and we need a few more experienced volunteers to help make that happen!
We are invited to read to those Saturday School students for 20 - 30 minutes in each Saturday School classroom. Our Saturday School "roaming readers" probably won't do crafts with the kids, but will instead "roam" to two or three classrooms to read aloud one of this month's books, then give each kid their own prize book, as we usually do. Their teacher will remain in the classroom, too.
Roaming readers will probably get to read to more kids than we are expecting at the "regular" reading clubs that morning! This is also a great way to read to kids who probably don't come to our reading clubs!
E-mail us at info@readingtokids.org if you are an experienced volunteer with us and can be a Roaming Reader that morning! If you are already signed up at a different school, we'll even happily move you from your current school to Esperanza!
Next Thursday or Friday for an hour or two between 7:30am and 2:30pm, we need your
help conducting quick classroom walk-throughs and/or passing out flyers to encourage kids to come to
our Feb. 14th reading clubs.
We are especially looking for volunteers available from about 1:15 - 2:45 next Thursday or Friday, Feb. 12th or 13th.

It's a rewarding experience and we'll provide everything you need. Please reply to
info@readingtokids.org or call the office at
(310) 479-7455 if you can be an Ambassador for an hour or two!
