CROSSWORDS LOS ANGELES TOURNAMENT
Saturday, April 25th

Sign up for the first annual Crosswords Los Angeles Tournament on April 25th with proceeds supporting Reading to Kids. 

The tournament is for puzzlers with a broad range of skills - prizes will be awarded in several categories.

What: One day. Five puzzles. Lunch.
When: April 25th, 2009, 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Loyola Marymount University, Hilton 100
Cost: $25 in advance for competitors ($20 for students), $20 for spectators

TACO TUESDAY HAPPY HOUR

Join Reading to Kids for a Taco Tuesday Happy Hour on April 14th at The Spanish Kitchen. Celebrate spring with your friends at Reading to Kids and enjoy $2 tacos along with drinks & appetizer specials. We'll be there from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. - stop by anytime. Friends & family welcome (21+).

VOLUNTEER AT OUR BOOTH AT THE FESTIVAL OF BOOKS

Reading to Kids will be joining thousands of community members, hundreds of organizations, and scores of authors at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.

We still need a few volunteers at our Festival of Books booth to help recruit volunteers and answer questions about Reading to Kids!

The Festival of Books is America's largest book festival and takes place once a year on the UCLA campus. The event is free and open to the public on Saturday, April 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Reading to Kids will be at Booth 137 in Zone A.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Comedy Night & Silent Auction

Reading to Kids is celebrating ten years of reading clubs at our Annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction on May 9th!  This event will feature hilarious comics, a fabulous Silent Auction, and a night of fun with fellow fans of Reading to Kids.  Proceeds from the event will support our reading clubs.

The event will be held at The Montálban Theater in Hollywood and seats will be assigned, so reserve your seats today!  Click here to buy tickets.

READING TO KIDS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Reading to Kids Charity Golf Tournament will be a fun day of golf and networking on Saturday, June 6th at Industry Hills Golf Club.  The format is a scramble tournament, making it easy to play for any level of golfer.  The tournament will include fun prizes for top foursomes, holes-in-one, a closest-to-the-pin competition, a long-drive contest, and a raffle.

The tournament began as a competition among business schools (this will be the 4th Annual MBA Masters Golf Classic), and it has expanded to become a charity fundraiser for Reading to Kids. Everyone is welcome to put together teams to participate. Or, register as a single, and we'll partner you up!  Not a golfer?  You are welcome to join us for the 19th Hole reception and dinner.
